The plant life as seen through the macro lens revels in a world that we cannot see. This world is wildly abstract and intricate. Shapes, colors and forms that are revealed are shocking and surprising. The transitory state of nature is captured in a brilliant and joyful moment, a tiny and extraordinary burst of life on behalf of the plant, with the occasional bonus of an attending insect.

In my portraiture I aim to reveal the true character of my subjects by representing them honestly and without self-consciousness. The resulting images are people stripped of their usual facades as they do not pose for the viewer's approval, judgment nor acceptance. Rather they stand pure, as themselves, and we are disarmed and fascinated by this rawness.
